长鼓舞是流传在江华瑶族自治县及邻近瑶族地区具有鲜明的民族特色和地方色彩的民族民间舞蹈，是表现瑶族人民群众生活的一种艺术手段。每当春节或庆贺丰收、建新房，或在祭祀“盘王”以及其它一些祭祀礼仪中，都要表演长鼓舞。表演的内容多为体现劳动生产和建造房屋的动作
